From the blog, a graph comparing the ‘expansion’ during Bush to other post-WWII expansions. The only winner? You guessed it… corporate profits.

More McCain Campaign Distortions
June 10Two in the same day?! McCain is seriously disappointing and a vast departure from his “independent” days. He’s become a 100% Conservative Republican Shill. He’ll do virtually anything to win over the Republican base. Sad.
ThinkProgress.org noted today that McCain’s top economic advisor, Carly Fiorina, claimed on Fox News that Obama hasn’t proposed one single tax cut, despite details to the contrary on his campaign website.
The best part, was this quote:
FIORINA: So I think what you have here is Barack Obama, without a great deal of understanding in the economy, going back to the same old tax- and-spend philosophies of the liberal Democratic past. He reminds me a bit of Jimmy Carter — or Herbert Hoover, even worse.
So this coming from the McCain campaign, the same John McCain who has repeatedly said he doesn’t really understand economics? The same John McSame who is basically running on the Bush economic policy – the one, you know, that is spend and cut taxes, leading us to massive deficits and a deepening recession? Yeah, that’s him.
And as ThinkProgress noted, the same John McCain that has been less than forthcoming about his own economic plan:
In the same segment, Fiorina claimed that her boss, John McCain, “has been very explicit about the taxes he will cut.” But she neglected to mention that McCain is far from explicit in explaining how he’ll pay for massive deficits created by his tax proposals. In fact, he refuses to name a single program he’ll cut.
So, when do the gloves come off, MSM? You are the ones that said as soon as there were two running for President, McCain would get the same scrutiny, weren’t you?
Krugman Catches McCain’s Exaggerations
June 10John McCain speech at the National Small Business Summit today attempted to talk about the negatives of a Barack Obama economic plan, however there was a small problem. He exaggerated a number Obama’s positions. Luckily, Paul Krugman at the NY Times pointed this out in a today’s blog post.
McCain raised Obama’s Estate Tax rate by a whopping 10 percentage points (claiming 55%, while Obama’s plan is 45% with a $3.5 million exemption.) He also tried to convince the small business owners that Obama’s tax plan would raise taxes for 21.6 million sole proprietorships, however Krugman’s research lowered that number to 479,000 – or 2% of the total McCain claims.
How long until the media starts pounding McCain for these inaccuracies, exaggerations, and his multitude of flip flops on so many issues? I seem to remember they had fun with Kerry and Gore on these issues the last two Presidential cycles…
